FIRST NEW HOMES AT WEST HILLS GO ON SALE

The first release of new homes in a major, master-planned residential development near Auckland’s north-western motorway (SH16) have gone on sale at prices between $695,000 and $851,000.

The homes are to be built at West Hills, a 1,100 to 1,200-home development on 41 hectares off Fred Taylor Drive near the NorthWest Shopping Centre. They include one, two, three and four-bedroom homes in stage one of the Universal Homes development, accessed from a new road off Don Buck Road. Three show-homes for the development are also being built on this road.

A West Hills Information Centre has been built at 68 Fred Taylor Drive for visitors, with buyers able to use virtual reality to visualise the extent and nature of the development. Upcoming information evenings will also be held at this location.

Universal Homes sales manager Mike Pearce says the high quality of urban design, energy efficiency and value-for-money pricing of the homes is due to Universal’s extensive experience at Hobsonville Point with urban designers Isthmus, a key partner of Hobsonville Point, leading the master planning, along with Avery Team Architects and Construkt Architects.

The community and environmental dimensions are a major emphasis in the planning of West Hills, says Mr Pearce, with the vision for the development described as ‘Green City Living’.

Mr Pearce said that the vibrant community associated with the medium density nature of West Hills’ urban environment, its proximity to the motorway and the northwest shopping centre, plus the recreational attractions of Auckland’s west coast offered buyers an exciting opportunity for modern city fringe urban living in a great environment.

The development will be completed in stages and is expected to take around eight to ten years to complete, attracting a community of 2,000 to 2,500 residents.
